How we handle your information
Last updated: September 2026
The short version: we collect only what we need to respond to you or process a contribution, we never sell your information, and you can ask us to delete information we control at any time.
What we collect
When you fill out a form on this site — a contact form, a get-involved route, or a program inquiry — we collect the details you choose to share: typically your name, email address, organization, and message.
If you make a contribution, our payment provider collects the information needed to process it and send a receipt. Washington Consortium does not receive or store your full card details.
Contributions and payment processing
Secure contribution checkout is provided by Stripe. Stripe processes payment details under its own privacy terms and may retain transaction records as required for payment, fraud prevention, compliance, refunds, and disputes.
We use contribution information only to administer the payment, provide an appropriate acknowledgement, and maintain accurate financial records. We do not use it to profile supporters.
How we use it
We use what you share to respond to your inquiry and to continue the conversation you started. If a conversation grows into a program or partnership, we keep the details we need to do that work well.
We don't add you to mailing lists you didn't ask for, and we don't use your information for anything unrelated to why you reached out.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, for any reason. This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Analytics
We may use basic, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful to visitors — for example, which pages are visited and roughly where visits come from. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify or profile individual visitors.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any work that follows from it. If a conversation doesn't lead anywhere, we don't hold on to your information indefinitely.
Young people's data
Our programs serve young people, and we take their privacy seriously. This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Information about program participants is handled directly with schools and educators, under the agreements that govern each program.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send us a message through our contact page and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and note the date above. We won't quietly change the principles stated here.
